Physical Therapy Guide to Shin Splints

If you are dealing with the problem - here’s our physical therapy guide to shin splints. Our therapist would generally suggest taking a break from the exercise to not further aggravate any issues. We also recommend icing the area for 5-10 minutes, at least three times a day. Little exercises to gently stretch the muscles around the shin and hands-on massage are great ways to deal with shin splints. Depending on the situation, we sometimes also recommend shoe inserts or orthotics that support your feet, in case your muscles are weak or your feet flatten too much.
